Child Safety Standards

Last updated: September 2026

These Child Safety Standards apply to SocialImpactMap — our Android and iOS applications and the website at socialimpactmap.com (together, the "Platform") — published and operated by SocialImpactMap UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Ludwig-Merk-Str. 7, 80805 Munich, Germany ("we", "us", "our"). They form part of our Terms of Use and are binding on everyone who uses the Platform.

1. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

SocialImpactMap strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and for any content, conduct, or use of the Platform that sexualises, endangers, or exploits a minor. This prohibition is absolute: it applies to every user, every business listing, every uploaded file, every message, and every link shared through the Platform, and it applies regardless of the user's location or intent.

2. Prohibited content and conduct

You must not create, upload, store, link to, request, promote, or transmit any of the following through the Platform:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including photographs, video, audio, drawings, animation, or computer- or AI-generated depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
  • Any sexualised depiction or description of a minor, including suggestive imagery, sexualised commentary about a minor, or the sexualisation of an otherwise innocent image of a child.
  • Grooming — any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes — as well as sextortion, or soliciting sexual content, contact, or meetings from or with a minor.
  • Child trafficking, the advertising or facilitation of child sexual exploitation, child sex tourism, or the sale, exchange, or advertising of access to a minor.
  • Content or listings that normalise, glorify, trivialise, or encourage sexual interest in minors, or that direct users to off-platform sources of such material.
  • Any other material or conduct that endangers the physical or emotional wellbeing of a child.

3. The Platform is for adults only

SocialImpactMap is a business directory. Accounts may only be created by people who are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract, as set out in our Terms of Use. The Platform is not designed for, directed at, or intended to be used by children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not offer private messaging between users. Where we learn that an account has been created by a minor, we close it and delete the associated data.

4. How we prevent CSAE on the Platform

  • Review before publication. Every business listing — including its description, logo, images, and social-impact evidence — is reviewed by us before it becomes visible on the map. Nothing a user uploads is published automatically.
  • Verified accounts. Registration requires a verified email address, and each account may register one business.
  • Ongoing moderation. We may re-review, edit, suspend, or remove any listing at any time, and we act on reports from users and from third parties.
  • Reporting built into the product. Every listing in our apps and on our website carries a reporting function that lets anyone flag content, including suspected child sexual abuse and exploitation, without needing an account.

5. How to report a child safety concern

If you encounter content or behaviour on SocialImpactMap that you believe involves the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, please report it to us immediately:

  • In the app or on the website: open the listing and use "Report this listing", then choose "Child safety / CSAE". No account is required.
  • By email: info@socialimpactmap.com with "Child safety" in the subject line.

Child safety reports are prioritised above all other reports. We acknowledge them within 24 hours and act on them as quickly as possible. Please do not download, save, or forward suspected CSAM in order to report it — describe what you saw and where you saw it, and we will retrieve it ourselves.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In Germany, call 110. You can also report directly to the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org, or to the INHOPE hotline for your country.

6. What we do when CSAE is reported or detected

When we confirm a violation of these standards, we:

  • remove the content and take the associated listing off the map immediately;
  • terminate the account and permanently ban the person and business responsible, and cancel any subscription without refund;
  • preserve the content and associated account records in a secured, access-restricted form for the purpose of reporting to and cooperating with the competent authorities, and for no other purpose;
  • report the incident to the competent law-enforcement authorities — including the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) — and cooperate fully with their investigations, including with lawful requests for information;
  • review how the content reached the Platform and tighten our controls where a gap is found.

7. Child safety point of contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including enquiries from regulators, law enforcement, child-protection organisations, and app stores, is:

Child Safety Team, SocialImpactMap UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Ludwig-Merk-Str. 7, 80805 Munich, Germany
info@socialimpactmap.com (subject line: "Child safety")

8. Legal compliance

We comply with all applicable child safety laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which SocialImpactMap is available. This includes German criminal law on the distribution of child sexual abuse material, the EU Digital Services Act, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and — where they apply to us — reporting obligations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States. We also comply with the child safety requirements of the app stores through which we distribute the Platform, including Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.

9. Training and review

Everyone at SocialImpactMap who reviews listings or handles reports is briefed on recognising and escalating suspected CSAE. We review these standards at least once a year and whenever our product, our legal obligations, or the risks we see materially change, and we publish the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
